Predicting the Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal (if it happens)

Now, at the end. Is it time? If the latest rumours are accurate, Nintendo will FINALLY reveal the successor to the Nintendo Switch tomorrow. I’ve been vocal in my disappointment over Nintendo’s 2024.  Outside of the incredible Emio: The Smiling Man, I had little to get excited about. I’ve been waiting for new hardware for a long time. Do I think Nintendo could’ve thrown us a bone late last year? Yes.  Does it matter now? Not really! It’s water under the bridge. However, Nintendo’s hesitancy to reveal the console before it entered mass production does mean a lot of leaked …

115 Day Update

Happy 115 Day! To honour the momentous occasion, I’ve given the Aetherium Anonymous poster a bloody twist. It felt fitting. The news of a new Zombies map so soon after the launch of Citadelle Des Morts is massive. We’ll potentially be playing DLC 2 by the end of January—it’s crazy! In the back of my mind, I hoped Treyarch might have been planning for more than the traditional four post-launch maps, but I wanted to keep my expectations in check. I’m reluctant to assume every season will have a map until Treyarch confirms it, but it puts us in a …

The Shutter Paw Awards 2024: Top 10 Games of the Year

2024 is all wrapped up, so it’s time for the inevitable end-of-year list. I’ve enjoyed a lot of different things this year, so there are some additional awards alongside my top ten. Enjoy! 10: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Like the man himself, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle makes it by the skin of its teeth! Despite my low hype for this one, Machine Games delivered. The game is undoubtedly the best Indy adventure since the original movies, with Troy Baker nailing the difficult task of living up to Harrison Ford.  Like him or hate him, Baker proves …

The Game Awards 2024: Announcements, Picks and Predictions

It’s The Keighleys, everyone’s favourite event to get angry at! Whether it’s the lack of exciting announcements, winners being rushed off stage, or the outrageous celebrity cameos, you cannot deny that The Game Awards is a spectacle. I enjoy watching The Game Awards as an end-of-year celebration, reflecting on my experiences this past year, and getting excited about the future. I’ve accepted that what I’m looking for in an Awards Show won’t be found at TGAs, and it’s more of an all-encompassing show than a ceremony to celebrate developers. I go into more detail in my video on The Game …

Citadelle des Morts Preview: Chaos in Avalon

The Citadelle des Morts intro cinematic is out, and while I was already excited for more Zombies after Black Ops 6’s launch, my hype is now at fever pitch for the new map update. It’s been a while since I’ve written on Shutter Paw–I’ve been dipping my toes in some YouTube–but now’s the perfect time to tap away furiously at my laptop and speculate on the future of Zombies. Off the bat, I’m so happy we’re getting intro cinematics for post-launch maps again.  It’s been a while!  By my estimations, Ancient Evil was the last one we got (ironic, given …

Black Ops 6 Zombies: First Impressions and Feedback

Black Ops 6 is phenomenal. I’ve spent countless hours playing around with all three pillars since launch and have barely scratched the surface. Given the live service element, I’m saving a full critique until the first additional Zombies map is released, but I still wanted to get some initial thoughts out there with some feedback for the Zombies Team. I love BO6’s iteration of the mode so much and think it will only improve as the year progresses! As this is a hybrid of first impressions review and feedback, I will probably repeat myself a lot. Expect as many “It’d …

Black Ops 6 Zombies: A Blog About a Blog

If it wasn’t clear, it should be now: Treyarch is listening to the community more than ever. Despite a short turnaround from reveal to launch, Treyarch has acknowledged and addressed much of the feedback for Black Ops 6’s release. Yesterday’s blog post delivered valuable information about Zombies, including a deep dive look at the augment system, Gobblegums, and the response to various community gripes from the Call of Duty NEXT reveal. Treyarch confirmed that the Liberty Falls environment was still a work in progress at the time of its first reveal. The town’s look, feel, and sounds will all have …

Into the Intel II: The Chaos Story, Mr Peeks, and the Dark Aether Villains

Following the first Into the Intel, which covered Project Janus, the relationship between Aether and Dark Aether, and some thoughts on MWZ pre-finale, I’m back with further musings about the mysteries of Zombies. First up, something Black Ops 4 fans haven’t stopped talking about since it was discovered. Chaos Control The Chaos story was set to take over from Aether following the conclusion of Black Ops 4. Unfortunately, this didn’t play out as Treyarch intended. When the Cold War Zombies reveal introduced Dark Aether, it was safe to assume that Chaos would never be mentioned again, resigned to history as …
